I’ve updated my author website. Since I’ve been delving into both mystery and contemporary, I decided to change up the website a little bit. I’m still interested in historical romance, of course, but I’m considering some set in ancient times, since that’s more my forte and academic interest. Everyone writes in the Regency and Victorian eras and it’s a hard market to break into, whether you’re going the traditional route, hybrid, or self-pub. So I decided to focus the website mainly on me for now, since all I have out is the Match Making Miuty short story that’s made me a whole $.70 since I put it out, what, three years ago? LOL! Ah well. It was learning experience and now I know not to put my books solely on Kindle Unlimited, since I can’t put them anywhere else due to the proprietary nature of Kindle Unlimited. Live and Learn!

I’m on Instagram now and one of my favorite authors, Cathy Maxwell, who I met at Romance Genrecon, followed me back! (swoons) But seriously she’s a real sweetheart of a lady and she writes some fantastic historical romances. Check her out!

I found two new series that I’m jumping into feet first. One is a historical romance, The League of Rogues. I got the first book (19 so far according to Amazon!) in an illustrated format at Romance Genrecon and I must say it was worth the $40. The illustrations in Wicked Designs were frequent, beautifully rendered and fit the scenes perfectly. And it was a fun read. Can’t wait to get the rest. I also found a cozy mystery series about a female beer brewer who finds more bodies than she can make beer. Also a fun read by Ellie Alexander. The first book is Death on Tap. Check these authors out if you like romance or cozy mysteries. Or both!

I got a little bit done on Confessions of a Beatlemaniac. Not as much as I’d hoped but after getting back from writing at the coffee shop as I got distracted trying to remember how to update and change my website. I’m no longer on Twitter/X, not my by design but by Elon Musk’s. It says I no longer have an account there so I guess I don’t need to worry about it anymore. I’m finding Instagram much more amusing anyway.

I’m thinking about restarting my newsletter but it was such a headache that I’m not going to put one out every month like I used too. I want to write fiction, not brag about nothing happening. LOL! So look for that in the future, I guess. In the meantime, stay cool the rest of this steamy August!

I’m looking for potential editors and critique readers for my contemporary romance so if you know of anyone interested or know of any editors that won’t charge an arm and a leg, hit me up with suggestions. If my cat would stop spending my savings on his vet bills I could have had book one of the Geek Girls Trilogy to an editor by now.
