Well, I’ve gotten A Renaissance Affaire up to a little over 51,500 words, which isn’t a lot considering…I’m having trouble, as usual, with this book and I fear that whole sections are going to have to be rewritten from scratch, not just added in. I tried to do that today but was operating on exactly 3 hours of sleep, damn hypomania. So all I did was wiggle some words here and jiggle some sentences there while writing with my coffee shop writing buddy, Rosie, this morning.

Never fear! I’m not giving up but I need more brain power than I currently have to spare to work on such a massive undertaking.

On the Book Three front, I’ve finally figured out an overall external conflict for the book. Now I just have to start writing, which is challenge with Book Two hanging over my shoulder. sigh

I just finished teaching The Tudor Kitchen for Hearts Through History. I’m not sure how many people were in the class but there weren’t any questions or comments the whole two weeks, so I assume the information I gave was good enough? I don’t know. I’ll probably never know. I’m going to use the payment for “teaching” the class on getting my Alexander short mystery reviewed and edited by my freelance editor before submitting it to Level Best Books historical anthology before the deadline of December 31.

I’ve been contemplating restarting up my newsletter, but I don’t know what to say, to be honest, that I don’t relay here. So I’m pondering that also. Lots to write, no time in which to do it.

My critique partner, however, attended a conference in Oklahoma City last month and got two agents to request, which means she’s been writing and editing her poor brains out to get everything ready for an agent’s eye. Wish Delaney Blake luck!
